WE NEED YOU!
Julia’s Way, dedicated to reimagining life with Down syndrome, wants to hear your breastfeeding story!
Are you the mother of a child with Down syndrome? Did you breastfeed, attempt to breastfeed, or pump for your baby? We would love to hear from you! It is extremely important to us that mothers of all ethnicities, races, economic backgrounds, medical situations, etc. see themselves in our materials to help encourage and inspire other mothers who want to breastfeed their babies with Down syndrome! If your story is chosen we will feature it in our upcoming book and/or on our website. We would also love photos of you breastfeeding (or pumping) to include with your story, either professional or candid shots are welcome.
I’m Ella Cullen, Founder and Executive Director of Julia’s Way (www.juliasway.org), a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to reimaging life with Down syndrome. I am also the mother of a toddler with Down syndrome and am passionate about our current project, which focuses on supporting and empowering mothers who would like to breastfeed their babies. We are working to help mothers and medical professionals identify and overcome the challenges that our babies sometimes face when attempting to breastfeed. Our book Nursing Down Syndrome: A Comprehensive Guide for Mothers and Medical Professionals is due out in mid-2018. A brochure intended to help new and expectant moms successfully breastfeed can be found on our website at www.juliasway.org/brochure.
We look forward to hearing from you!
