A makeshift movie set

We were so excited to host Julia Eva and Tony Bacon, the amazingly creative, award-winning husband and wife duo in our home yesterday. They were here to film for an upcoming short movie project that has been in the works for several weeks. In the film I  harken back to my roots and deliver a short spoken word piece reflecting on what normalcy means when you're raising a special needs child.

Tony turned Julia Grace's nursery into a makeshift movie studio and we filmed for the better part of an afternoon. It was exciting and exhausting to get a peek behind the cameras.

I was so happy to be reminded of the times I'd spent on stage performing poetry in spoken word competitions and open mic nights and I really loved seeing the words I'd written come to life under Tony's expert direction. Now, he's busy in the editing studio and we have an anticipated release date of 3/21. Just in time for World Down Syndrome Day. I can't wait to share the finished product with you! 💝
